I've been meaning to update for quite sometime..
i can't i believe i only have a lil under 3 months left until i get to walk and be done with HS.
i'm so ready.. its scary and so exciting at the same time but my feelings for it? HASN'T HIT ME YET!!
it wont even hit me until i go on that stage and receive my diploma...
o i really can't wait and i wana share that moment with sooo many ppl too =]
everyone that has been apart of life has left everlasting footprints in it and i juss have so many great ppl who've always been there to support me through it all and i just cant wait to make them proud.
ive come a long way..or so i think
besides grad stuff//
so my senior project went really well, thank you to all who came!!!!! it meant A LOT to me. =]
i'm glad i got the chance to give back to the facility and be able to show the ppl that came where my love for pediatric nursing has come from and how these kids yearn for love juss like we do and being able to meet them could touch your life too.. that was my goal for my project, to have others be touched by the kids cuz they sure are a bunch of great kids =]. THANK YOU AGAIN. we raised roughly around $300 for the facility juss in one hr!!//
so if many of u don't know i am enrolled in health occupations which is a class that helps u experience hands on in the medical field and u learn nursing skills to become a CNA at the end of the class. I love this class its three hrs a day and right now we are at a nursing home facility. we all had the privledge so far to have our own patients and be able to practice our nursing skills for the state testing in may. It's been such a great experience. Old people are the best ppl ever. It's like once upon a time they were kids learning things and then once u hit that "old" age u have to start all over again because everything is brand new to u so you are a kid once more. life is juss one big cycle. i've learned so much from my patient. and i could spend hours tlaking about how much wrking here has really open my eyes and touch my heart. if pediatric nursing fails i most def want to go into geriatric nursing. the elderly have a lot to teach u and tell u. wat touch my heart the most is how in such a short period of time (less than a month) i've been able to do so much for my patient. She has chronic depression and everyday after breakfast the nursing staff wheels her back to her bed and so as a student since i have time i wheel her around the facility. she talks about juss about everything. she loves to talk and the nursing staff told me that they don't have time to talk to her and help her get happier so i get hte privledge too. everyone says she's been smiling a lot more and been able to talk more and share more and open more. The simplest things u can do for others makes a whole lot of difference and i'm just happy that i can have the chance to make her day a little brighter. Today, she told me how she use to lovehow to sing and so i gave her a tune and she sang it all around the facility. everyday since ive been working with her, when i leave she always says two things, 1) THANK YOU.. i mean really THANK YOU LOTS and 2) promise to see me later, okay?
I love nursing so far and i thank god for the open doors that he has given me that lead me up to this point. being able to brigthen someone else's day makes my heart so happy. i love what i'm doing at this facility and can't wait for many more adventures in my nursing career and i can't wait to meet many more new people that i can help. Sometimes i think i'm so selfish. all these ppl everyone in all facilities are craving attention and i can't believe how selfish i have lived my life when i could of helped so many ppl. and i pray and continue to hope i can do that and touch more ppl and bring them to christ. i love nursing so much u have NO IDEA!!
i wish i could talk about my nursing stuff to more ppl.. but no one has the time these days.. =/ o well.
but that's it for now.. sorry it was sooo long.
